I've been fascinated with shooting things really far away since I was a kid, and as a voracious reader I taught myself how to do it when I turned 14 and bought my first centerfire rifle. The passion that I developed led me to fulfill a dream of attaining the title of a Marine Corps Scout/Sniper and I lived that lifestyle for just shy of a decade doing the best job in the world. I discovered that I also had a passion for teaching, and I spent time as an instructor at a couple of the schoolhouses in the Marine Corps. I ended up receiving a serious injury on a combat trip to Iraq in 2004, and that subsequently ended my career, sending me to Washington state to pursue a new life. I tried to do something other than shooting, but it didn't last long and I ended up with a very small company teaching civilians and military snipers as a contractor. The passion that led me to chase my dream of being a sniper led me to being a full-time long range shooting instructor working for some notable companies in the industry, developing my skills and knowledge of how everything worked. Along with my incredibly supportive and amazing wife, we run Modern Day Sniper, continuing to live our passions every day.
